Obviously New Year’s only comes around once a year right? I mean could argue about the other new year’s out there for different cultures and how they might take place at different times throughout the year, therefore creating more than one new year; however we are not going to do that right now. As I was saying, although it comes around once a year it seems much more than that because we are left thinking about our resolutions all year round and by the time we need to think of other ones we are still wondering how to accomplish the first one we set out for ourselves. It can be a little hectic trying to think of the things we want to accomplish throughout the year and perhaps we make them resolutions because we might not be ready to face them. How many of us have seen a business for sale and start to imagine ourselves in the title role of running it and getting everything set up? Now, how many of us have made a resolution to get started on that however each year it just keeps getting pushed further back until the dream is no more?
When we see a business for sale our minds start running through all the possibilities of how much it would cost and do we have the time, are we ready for such a commitment and maybe it is the perfect timing for you and what you have been looking for. So we ponder the idea for a while and maybe we actually get some information on the business and meet with the professionals to discuss options and what it would Intel to get things started. This is a good starting point and exactly what we need to do, however most of us fall back and start focusing on other things that might not be as important as that business. I often wonder why we do this to ourselves when everything else is going so well. Why would we give up such an opportunity and step back from the chance to own our own business?
The idea of putting ourselves out there and trying something new can always be a little bit stressful right? Who wants to try something new and something as important as starting up a business only to perhaps fail and have to start all over again? While it can be an intimidating thought and it could put us off the very idea, we need to remember that having our own business was something we were really thinking about before the fear took over and before we thought we could not do it.
If we actually want to buy a business and we are trying to figure out how we can go about it and what the steps are then you should look around at the people that can help, go to those professionals and see what your options are before you start to think that you cannot do it. The main thing that gets into our head is fear, and fear does not have to be there if we take the necessary steps.
When we see a business for sale and we think to ourselves that it might be time for us to go down that road, then we probably should. There is no need for us to be afraid when we have professionals there with us every step of the way. Who needs to be afraid when we know we can do it; and that we can make it a success as well.
